The third edition of this popular textbook has been updated to reflect the increasing importance of experiential learning and transferable personal skills, especially as demonstrated through the completion of work-based projects. Salient differences between the more academic research project and those that are ‘work-based’ are highlighted where appropriate throughout the text. These relate to project planning and the design, implementation and reporting of the work to be undertaken.
