Westburn Publishers has policies in place for Self-Archiving and Open Access.

Self-Archiving

Preprints

(a) a link must be made to the publisher website, and
(b) a link made when available to the final published version of the paper on the publisher website.

The applicable statement must be embedded in the full text file or displayed in its accompanying metadata:

This preprint may only be made available on the author’s personal website or institutional repository.  The preprint may not be posted online for commercial resale, and must not be made available for systematic distribution by any third party, including email lists and databases.

Postprints

Authors may make the abstract and citation details (title, authors, journal, volume, issue, page numbers) of their paper freely available, preferably with a link to the definitive published version on the publisher website. This link can be made using the DOI number assigned to the article http://dx.doi.org/{nnnn}

Authors are permitted to self-archive the post peer-review, pre-production (postprint) version of their article subject to an embargo of 18 months from date of print publication.  This postprint may only be made available on the author’s personal website or institutional repository.  The postprint may not be posted online for commercial resale, and must not be made available for systematic distribution by any third party, including email lists and databases.

This following statement must be embedded in the full text file or displayed in its accompanying metadata.

“Author Posting © Westburn Publishers Ltd, [YEAR].  This is a post-peer-review, pre-copy-edit version of an article which has been published in its definitive form in the [Journal], and has been posted by permission of Westburn Publishers Ltd for personal use, not for redistribution. The article was published in [Journal, Vol.#, Date, No.#, pp.#-#, doi:{nnnn} http://dx.doi.org/{nnnn}]”

The DOI number and DOI link included in this statement will allow users to link to the published version of the article online, where they may be able to download the article through subscription or pay-per-view access.

Open Access

On acceptance of a paper, Westburn Publishers will permit authors to select to participate in our Open Access initiative.

Westburn Publishers will permit authors to make their published article freely available on an ‘Open Access’ basis on payment of a one-off fee of £1500 (plus VAT where applicable). If the author is a member of an institution with a full print + online subscription to the journal, this fee will be reduced to £1000 (plus VAT where applicable).  This fee is payable on acceptance of the article.

This means that in addition to the article being posted online for free access through Westburn Publishers’ authorised gateways, authors will be permitted to post the final published PDF version of their paper on any website, institutional repository or free public server.
