Michael J. Baker is Emeritus Professor of Marketing at the University of Strathclyde, where he founded the Department of Marketing in 1971.
He is the author/editor of over 30 books and more than 150 articles and papers and is the founding editor of the Journal of Marketing Management and the Journal of Customer Behaviour. Michael Baker holds visiting appointments in a number of leading business schools and is a former Chairman of the Institute of Marketing, the Marketing Education Group and the Senate of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and was President of the Academy of Marketing from 1986-2005.
